dhtmlxEditor - attachEvent is part of documentation, but there are no events

I was looking to either prevent someone from entering data into the dhtmlxEditor (if an item is closed and no further changes are allowed) OR to alert them if the content changed and set the text back to the original. Are either of these scenarios supported?

Hello,

editor doesn't provide ready functionality to  make it read-only. The possible workaround is shown in the attached sample
