links within cdata won't pass parameters

Hi there.

I am trying to build a vertical menu for my customers site. I get the menus to show up but when I click on the links all I get is the main portion of the link passed. The ?docid=8&catid=9808 do not get passed.

<![CDATA[http://clf2.sjpg.com/root/index.cfm?docid=8&catid=9908]]>

I am new to xml! The site is built on coldfusion.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
