Using splitAt and dhtmlXGridFromTable

I am only interested in using dhtmlXGridFromTable to generate my grids, but I want to be able to freeze the left-most column with splitAt(). This doesn't seem possible. Does splitAt() only work with dynamically generate grids? Please let me know since this will determine whether or not I buy the pro edition.

This is not possible through existing API. The split functionality can't be used while loading data from existing table.
