Row Height and Smart Rendering

Is there anyway of changing the row height for a grid with smart rendering enabled?

Changing the height using the style property of the row xml element seems to work initially, but on scrolling down in a large dataset, whitespace gaps appear in the data.

Same behaviour in firefox and IE.

In smart rendering mode height of row must be constant for all rows, it not possible to have same effect as in multiline mode, in case of smart-rendering.
