Try replace the file dhtmlxcommon.js with dhtmlxcommon_debug.js and I have this Error:

Error: dhtmlObject.xmlDoc.responseXML has no properties

The possible reasons
a) use grid.load with URL pointing to different domain ( the browser allows to load file only from the same domain as domain of HTML page ) 
or
b) you are using grid.parse with some kind of object which is not a XML object
