TableGrid Cells

But i want to select more then two consecutive cells either in a (particular) row or column.
i have 5 rows an 6 columns an want that select cell(2,2) to cell(2,5)  for merging those cells.
and in column section i want to select cell(1,3) to cell(4,3) for merging.

Is it possible to do these thing in dhtmlx Grid.

Not in current version. 
Oncoming update will contain extension which will allow to select separate cells
