Hi,
Just wanna know if it is possible to validate data in the XML file for maxlength,format etc...

The grid has not built in validation but provides few events , which can be used for such purpose
  onRowCreated - occurs when row data loaded from xml
  onEditCell - occurs when cell was changed by user
  onCellChanged - occurs for any operation which changes the cell value
