With your system, can I have it call my own AJAX server calls to adjust my proprietary hier data tables as the users uses the drag-n-drop to remap the hierachy?

The dhtmlxCommon.js contains dtmlXMLLoaderObject which can be used to send GET or POST ajax calls to any server side script.
