Any recommendations on how to create a "header column", ie a non-editable column containing "label" cells? At the moment I'm just creating a column with non-editable cells, but would like to treat these separately from the rest of the "content" cells if there's a recommended approach

This is hard to implement. Current structure of grid doesn't allow any non-grid injections inside of grid structure.
