Hi, I trying the dhtmlxmenu , I need the simple use only for the main menu with no submenus, My question is if we pressing on a item can it be Highlited until we press other item ? or can it possible to control an Item highlite ?

Menu can't be used as group of 2-state buttons, the inner logic of menu causes menu closing on item click event and there is no easy way to prevent it.

If you need menu to work as two-state buttons, you can try the dhtmlxToolbar - it has special kind of buttons for such purpose. ( The layout of toolbar can be organized horizontally or vertically - same as menu )

You can control how highlighted item shown through adjusting css styles in dhtmlxmenu.css file. But you can't control when item is stitched in/out highlighted state
